Patrick H. Jones’ gritty paintings are often born of the artist’s personal experiences and memories connected to trauma and loss. Though they may appear anonymous, his figures bear a palpable psychological weight. In these two intimate works, the men stare off into space, mouths open, as if disconnected from the world and their physical bodies. Jones lives and works in London. His work has been included in a number of recent exhibitions, among them Reconfigured, Timothy Taylor, New York; Limbes, Galerie PCP, Paris; Juggle, Plaza, London; SET 24, The Art Academy, London; and New Contemporaries, South London Gallery, London.
